1. Solo singing talent contest open to all amateurs, preferably between ages 16 to 25
years old.
2. Must be of Filipino descent.
3. Register via email sending the following information:

• Name
• Birthday
• Telephone Contact #
• Mailing Address/City/State/Zip
• Email Address
• Website (if any)
• Short Profile on yourself and answer the following:

�� How long have you been singing publicly?

�� What (if any) singing performances have you been involved in?

�� What (if any) achievements have you accomplished?

�� What are your goals as an Artist?

�� How might you potentially contribute your talent to the Filipino-American
Community?

For Participants Under 18, submit the following info of your parent/guardian:

• Name
• Birthday
• Telephone Contact #
• Mailing Address/City/State/Zip
• Email Address
  

Finally, please submit information regarding the songs you will be singing. See
below for the requirements of songs:

• Song Title
• Year
• Genre
• Original Artist
• Song Length (see limits)

4. If possible, please submit a video response via youtube (fiestafilipina 2008 teaser) or
via email. Videos will be screened to determine contestants.
5. All selected contestants will be required to pay a $30 registration fee if they decide to
continue.
6. NO PROPS allowed (including backup singers, dancers, animals, instrument, etc).
7. Elmination will take place on the Evolution Stage at 12 PM. Each contestant will
sing a song of their choice a maximum of 2 minutes in length. Songs may be an any
language or dialect. Each contestant must bring his/her own minus one CD or tape.
To advance, contestants will receive scores comprised of 75% judged vote, 25%
crowd vote. A panel of 3 judges will each give a rating based on the following
criteria:

�� Vocal Dynamics (1–10 points )

�� Stage Presence (1–10 points)

�� Style (1–5 points)

These ratings will be added up to represent the judge vote. For the crowd, votes are
done by buying a $1 raffle ticket representing each contestants. Proceeds will go to
the beneficiaries assigned to each contestant. The total votes for each contestant will
be rated between 1-25. Crowd votes open for approx 2 hours. This will represent the
crowd vote. The top 5 contestants with highest score move onto the Finals.

8. Finals will be held at 3:30 PM. Finalists will be required to sing a different song
from the first one (maximum of 4 minutes). 100% of ranking will be determined by
the panel of judges:

�� Vocal Dynamics (1–40 points)

�� Stage Presence (1–40 points)

�� Audience Impact (1–20 points)

Finalists compete for the top three slots and selected by three judges. Grand Prize
winner will be named the “2008 Fiesta Filipina Idol”.

1st Place: $200 cash
2nd Place: $100 value gift certificate
3rd Place: $50 value prizes
Other Finalists: Sponsor Giveaways

9. Judges’ decision is final.
10. Winners may also have a chance at singing with the Fiesta Filipina headliners on
Sunday, June 8.
